In front of a snow globe, everyone go back into childhood. It's magic! And when this snow globe was made by the small hands of our children or our grandchildren, it is more touching!

Winter is coming soon, that's why we suggest you this project, you can make it with the family. A great gift idea that kids could give to their grandparents or teachers! A little bit of "snow" and a lot of love in a handmade gift, what more could you ask for?

You can easily find all the necessary materials in craft stores, but also in discount stores.

Material:

- Plastic plate snow globe craft template (printed to the right size via the Internet, or drawn by you).

- Clear plastic plates, 7 inches (about 18 cm)

- Black construction paper

- Clear school glue

- Crayons or oil pastels

- Watercolor paints

- Styrofoam snow

- Scissors

How to do :

1. Let the children draw on the inside of the snow globe and color their drawings with crayons, watercolor paints or oil pastels.

They can choose a winter decor, a souvenir of the holidays, an hobby they like ...

2. When the paint is dry, let the children cut out the two parts of their snow globe. You can glue black paper on the base that "holds" the globe, or let the children color it.

3. Glue the base to the back of the snow globe.

4. Pour 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30 g) of Styrofoam snow in the middle of the drawing.

Tip : If you want to use a greener option than styrofoam snow, let the children punch white paper with a hole punch or a snowflake-shape punch.

5. Glue the plastic plate onto the snow globe. Leave this "globe" in place until the glue dries, to prevent the styrofoam snow from sticking to the edges of the plate.

To speed up this process, you can use a hot glue gun, set on low temperature to fix the plate to the paper.

You can also decorate the snow globe with a ribbon and a bow, for example.

Kids will love shaking and turning their snow globe !

Another option : You can also print family photos or photos of the person to whom you want to offer the snow globe, if you feel like it ! Or why not your a photo fo you dog wearing a Christmas hat? You can do anything you want, that's funny !

This DIY is also a good idea for daycare educators who are looking for DIY winter projects !
