It is still surprising that parents and teachers still spend money on buying paint to do crafts with children
As you know, commercial paint sold in art stores is quite expensive.
This expense is not necessary because it is possible to make a homemade nontoxic paint at home, for a few cents only.
Be careful, it does not spread with a brush. It is best transferred to small squeeze bottles (such as condiment bottles). So we spray the paint on the paper just by pressing on the bottle.
Young children are particularly fond of this technique (more accessible and requiring less dexterity). As a bonus, you will have the freedom to create all the colors you want. In the end, you will make big savings!
THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED
- 1/2 cup of white flour
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 1/2 cup of water
- Food coloring
1.Mix the flour and salt and add the water.
2. Mix the ingredients well until smooth and even.
3.Divide the mixture into three (3) plastic lunch bags. Add a few drops of food coloring (of different colors) in each bag.
4.Close the bags tightly and squeeze them gently with your hands to distribute the color pigments.
5.Cut a corner of the bag and transfer your colors to your squeeze bottles.
And now, the time has come to paint :)
If the paint is too thick, you can adjust the consistency with water. However, it should not be too watery because it is a puffy paint, do not forget it :)
Take note that this paint dries quickly and creates an interesting textured effect.
