All children love playdough. And almost all children, after asking the parents for help to open the colored plastic lids, end up forming a greyish ball by mixing all the colors!

In addition, many of them forget to put the dough back in the containers after use and we end up with dry crumbs everywhere in the house!

And sometimes kids, tend to put the dough in the mouth. Although many brands offer safe products, when we smell this playdough, we can have some doubts about it ...

That's why preparing your own play dough at home can be economical and reassuring for the health of our children.

Here is an ultra easy playdough recipe, made with cheap ingredients of the grocery store, which will be safe if a kid decides to taste it!

Here's what you will need:

4-5 tablespoons (60 -75 g) cornstarch

DIRECTIONS:

2. Microwave on high for 20 to 30 seconds or until marshmallows puff up slightly.

3. Add a few drops of food coloring to the marshmallows, and mix well until combined.

4. Add 4 tablespoons (60 g) cornstarch and mix. When the dough becomes too difficult to stir with a spoon or spatula, knead it by hand. Take care to allow the dough to cool sufficiently to avoid burns.

Tip:

If the dough is too sticky, add a little more cornstarch, 1 teaspoon (5 g) at a time. If the mixture is still too sticky, add a little more coconut oil.

NOTE: As we can easily suspect, this marshmallow playdough can become quite sticky. Put some coconut oil on your child's hands before letting them play with the playdough. You should prepare a table by covering it with parchment paper or a silicone mat. This will make the cleaning easier and prevent the food coloring from staining your table.
