There are things that we want to hide in our house, like electric wires for example. This man wanted to hide the hose and electrical outlets of his washer, but he did not want to invest a lot of money. He found an economical solution, fast and really pretty! He made a removable wooden backsplash. See how he proceeded ...
He used :
- A wooden pallet
- 1/2 inch plywood sheet
- Hot glue
- Oil for the wood
How he made it :
Saw wooden pallet in pieces of different sizes (9, 6 and 3 inches).
Planing each piece, taking care to make thicker pieces of wood sometimes (it will give a stone effect).
Sand pieces of wood to make them smooth.
Add a piece of extra plywood to the board, on one side, to push the rack to the wall.
With his hot glue gun, he began to glue his pieces by alternating different sizes.
Cut some pieces to cover the side as well.
He then covered the wood with the oil.
He went to his laundry room to hide this:
And here's the result :
For almost nothing, he has beautifully decorated his room by hiding undesirable electrical outlets. I find this project awesome and I will do it this weekend ...
