The warmer weather will eventually arrive, it's promised! And with the hot summer days, will come the desire to enjoy the outdoors and the sun.

One of the ways to do this, is of course to relax in the sun, comfortably installed, reading the best book of the summer or simply dreaming and listening to the birds singing and children having fun nearby.

Anyone who has ever had the chance to relax under a palapa in a Caribbean country knows how good it is to have a break! This is the best way to relax !

But since we can't afford holidays of several months, you can make your own little corner of paradise at home !

To do so, we can build an outdoor cabana lounge that will perfectly complement our garden.

This project is not very complicated. It can be easily realized with two people.

Then you will have your own outdoor cabana lounge ! All your neighbors will want to do the same !

To realize this structure, you will need wood planks, lights, a camping air mattress, a 3/4 " steel conduit pipe and awning fabric. Kreg Deck jig and screws will be required as well. The result is absolutely amazing !

Required material:

  • 6 - 4x4 8 feet long
  • 12 - 2x4 8 feet long
  • 16 - 2x6 8 feet long
  • 2 - 2x8 8 feet long
  • 3 " deck screws
  • Pocket hole screws 2-1 / 2 " (for outside)
  • Simpson strong-tie connectors
  • Concrete blocks or something similar
  • 2- 1/2 " Pocket hole screws

Like any construction project, you will need your tools. Measuring tape, safety glasses, circular saw, sander, etc.

You can also get inspired and let your creativity run wild and add your personal touch to a wooden structure covered with fabric.

See how the result will be spectacular ! And in the evening, with the lights you have installed on your structure, you'll want to spend the night outside ! (Take mosquito repellent in this case !)
