Will Breaux always wanted a unique home and struggled for years to find a designer that shared the same vision as he did. That's why he decided, in 2011, to design and build his own unique house. He chose shipping containers because according to him: “Shipping containers are strong, fireproof, long-lasting, hurricane resistant, and have common characteristics”.

In total, 11 containers were used in the creation of the 3 story house. They can cost anywhere from $9,000 to $2,000 each, depending of the condition.

Breaux started the project by designing the plan himself. The rooftop deck looks really impressive!

And this is how the outside ended up looking once the containers were stuck on top of each other.

The living room is really spacious and features a timber strip ceiling. The overall design is very masculine and modern.

The bedroom has large windows and space for a comfortable and spacious bed.

A very functional all black kitchen with metal details is the style Breaux chose for this room.

The white bathroom is a nice contrast from the black kitchen. The minimalist white subway tiles are very trendy right now. The accessories like the shower head and handles have that metal style that blends very well with the rest of the house.

The tiles continue on the other walls of the bathroom and the toilet seat is absolutely perfect for the small space!

There is lots of natural light from the multiple windows and even an HVAC system for the hot Houston weather.
