If somebody asked you to live in a small house made from cardboard, you will probably reject the idea right way and tell yourself that it is quite impossible to build a house with that material.
Well, it seems like you are wrong! Engineers have been using cardboard to build tiny houses called Wikkelhouse in Amsterdam. These small homes are eco-friendly and take only a few hours to manufacture!
They are resistant to all types of weather and beautiful inside, take a look.
These tiny houses are made with 24 layers of recycled cardboard and ecological glue.
The modules are covered with a waterproof roof and in order to protect the house against bad weather, a waterproofing coating was applied.
A Wikkelhouse is made up of 1.2 meter (3.93 ft), so if you want a bigger house, you can buy 2, 5, 10 or 100 modules!
Once assembled, and depending on the number of segments, the tiny-house can will contain your choice of bedroom, bathroom, kitchen or even office. In addition, they can be painted and decorated according to your own taste.
The Wikkelhouse can be set up anywhere you want! Because of its light weight(6000 kg) it does not require a foundation and can therefore be moved at your will.
Surprisingly, while it only takes a few hours to build a Wikkelhouse, it has an estimated lifespan of at least a hundred years!
