Make a change from fatty deep-fried fries with this delicious oven fries recipe. A slightly healthier alternative that is still really delicious.

The deliciously sweet taste of carrots makes it an excellent side dish and what about its seasoning? We love the garlic and parmesan mixture!

This succulent recipe can also be made with other root vegetables such as parsnip, beets, turnip, sweet potatoes, etc.

You can dip them in a delicious dip made with Greek yogurt, or they can also be eaten plain, simply with an extra dash of Parmesan cheese.

We love them as a side dish or even as an appetizer.

  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) oil
  • ¼ cup (25 gr) finely grated parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) garlic powder (not to be confused with garlic salt)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pepper
  • ¼ cup (10 gr) chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pepper

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 ° F / 200 ° C.
  2. Slice the top and bottom of the carrots and peel them - if necessary.
  3. Cut the carrots in half, then cut each half in three lengthwise.
  4. In a large bowl, place all the carrot sticks.
  5. Pour all the other ingredients (except the ingredients for making the dip) over the carrot sticks.
  6. Mix well, so as to coat the carrots with spices and parmesan.
  7. Spread the carrots on a baking sheet, placing them in an even layer.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes (for more or less crispy fries depending on your oven).
  9. While the fries are cooking, prepare the dip. Pour all the ingredients for the dip in a small bowl and mix well.
  10. When the fries are done cooking, let them cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them on a plate.
  11. Sprinkle the carrots with additional Parmesan and a little chopped parsley, if desired.
  12. Serve the hot carrot fries with the dip and a main course of your choice or serve as an appetizer for your guests.

Replace the parmesan with grated asiago cheese or romano for another tasty alternative.
