How to make roasted veggies deliciously crispy!

Adding more vegetables to your diet is definitely a good idea! Perhaps losing a bit of weight is your 2021 resolution and are looking for some ideas? There are so many different ways to prepare veggies, you can eat them raw, boiled, cooked and roasted which is probably the best way! Roasting vegetables truly brings out all the delicious natural flavours and is really easy.

You only need a large sheet pan, your favourite cooking oil and salt/pepper. But if you want to add extra crunch, there is a special ingredient you can add to your roasted vegetable. It is in fact a very common food item that must people have in their pantry and that doesn't cost much at all: cornstarch!

Cornstarch is usually to add some crispiness to food and it makes total sense to include it to roasted vegetables, but not many people know this trick! Here's what you have to do:

  1. Prepare your favourite vegetables; wash and cut them to your desired shape.
  2. Toss vegetables in your favourite cooking oil, salt, pepper (optional) or more spices if wanted.
  3. Add a small amount of cornstarch in your spices mix or only use cornstarch and salt. Make sure the veggies are well coated on all sides. 
  4. Cook according to the vegetables you are using. Usually 20-45 minutes at  425°F. Enjoy!
