You can make divinely delicious cream puffs at home with this easy recipe.

It might seem to difficult to make this delicious French recipe at home, but if you follow correctly the directions below, you will be able to! Impress all your guests with homemade delicious cream puffs.

Ingredients

Choux Pastry

  • 1/2 cup of water 
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter 
  • 1/4 tsp. of salt 
  • 1/2 cup of flour 
  • 2 large eggs

Sweetened Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream 
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar 

Preparation

Choux Pastry

  • Start by preheating the oven to 400 F/204 C. In a medium pot on medium heat, add the water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
  • Once it's boiling, remove the pot from the stove and add in the flour all at once. You will need to stir quickly to form a nice dough.
  • Place the dough in a large bowl and continue to stir the dough so it becomes warm to the touch. Then add in one egg and stir to combine. Then add in the second egg and stir again until completely combined.
  • Transfer the choux pastry in a pastry bag or zip lock bag with a round tip, and pipe the pastry onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet or sheet pan. You will need to create little mound by piping using a circular motion. It should give you 12 medium-sized mounds of dough.
  • Now, put the choux pastry mounds in the oven for 15 minutes. 
  • After 15 minutes, turn the oven down to 350 F/176 C and bake for another 30 minutes. Do not open the oven too soon or it may cause the puffs to collapse or not rise at all. 
  • Remove from the oven and let the puffs cool down. Make the sweetened whipped cream in the meanwhile.

Sweetened Whipped Cream

  • Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla in a large. You want nice peaks to form.
  • Now you can fill the cream puffs! You have two options, poke a hole in the bottoms and pipe the cream in or simply cut the puffs in half and scoop it in. 
  • Dust the tops with powdered sugar and enjoy!
