Corn starch is one of these product that can be used for so many different things around the house, take a look for yourself!

1. Glass cleaner
Simply dilute 1 tablespoon of corn starch and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar in half a liter of water and use this mixture to clean and make shine windows and mirrors.

2. Non-toxic paint

Mix cornstarch with enough water to make a moderately thick mixture. Place on low heat and stir until the mixture has the consistency of acrylic paint. Remove from heat and add food coloring. This paint is ideal for children and babies!

3. Air freshener for shoes


Sprinkle cornstarch inside your shoes and leave it on overnight. The next day,  remove the powder and say Bye-bye to bad smells!

4. Dry shampoo


Apply cornstarch to the roots of your hair, leave on for a few minutes and then brush your hair. The cornstarch will absorb the sebum and your hair will become clean again.

5. Against skin irritations


To relieve sunburn, mosquito bites or diaper rashes in babies, apply corn starch to the area to be treated by rubbing gently.

6. Remove grease stains


To remove an oil stain, sprinkle it with a little corn starch, leave on for 20 minutes and then vacuum or brush off the starch.

7. Translucent powder


To make your makeup last longer, apply corn starch to your face using a powder brush. Finish with your blush or bronzer.

8. Make ironing easier

In a spray bottle, mix 3 tbsp cornstarch with 1 liter of water, shake and spray on clothes for easier ironing. Add 3 drops of your favorite essential oil if you want to add a nice smell. 

9. Make silver shine

Rub your silver jewelry or silverware with corn starch and a soft cloth to restore their shine in no time.

10. Thickening agent


Add a little corn starch to your sauces or soups for a thicker, creamier texture. 

11. Prevent mold on books


Sprinkle corn starch on the pages of old books and leave to act for a few hours, then remove with a soft brush. The powder will absorb moisture and musty odors and your old books will look like new again.

12. Anti squeak


Sprinkle corn starch on the squeaky parquet floor, then sweep the powder into the cracks. This will minimize friction and reduce squeaking.

13. Dry shampoo for your pet


Make a dry shampoo to your furry companion with corn starch: mix equal parts of cornstarch and baking soda, rub the fur of your pet with this mixture then leave on for 30 minutes. Finish by brushing the hair of your cat or dog to remove the powder.

14. Plush toys cleaner


In a plastic bag place the plush you want to clean with a handful of corn starch. Close the bag then shake and let sit for a few hours. Take the plush out of the bag and clean off any remaining powder with a vacuum cleaner.
