Before buying an expensive jewelry cleaner, try these tips!
1. For people in a hurry
This cleaner takes only five minutes to prepare and in just 15 minutes your jewelry is clean.
Cover a bowl with aluminum foil. Add 1 cup (250 ml) warm water, 1 tablespoon (15 g) baking soda, 1 tablespoon (15 g) salt, and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dish soap. Soak your jewelry for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse and dry.
2. For delicate jewelry
A gentle cleaning is essential to keep your jewelry in good condition, even if it's a cheap jewel.
Use a soft polishing cloth, an old toothbrush and this mix will restore old jewelry. Add 3 drops of lemon essential oil to 1/3 cup (85 ml) of water. Let the jewel in the solution for at least 5 minutes or overnight. Rub, rinse and polish to make it sparkle.
3. For frequent cleaning
This homemade jewelry cleaner is made with essential oils. Essential oils will clean your jewelry safely. You can keep this cleaner in a glass jar for frequent use.
Mix 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Thieves Household cleaner, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dish soap, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) witch-hazel and about 1/4 cup (65 ml) distilled water. Soak the jewels less than an hour. Clean with a toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and let dry.
4. To make your ring sparkle
In a small bowl, add a few drops of dish soap
and some glass cleaner. Oils and dirt will be removed! All you need to do is, let your jewel soak and brush it with an old toothbrush. You will be surprised how effective this method is!
5. To prevent silver from tarnishing
If you have not worn your silver jewelry for a while, they are probably tarnished. To prevent this, simply drop some pieces of chalk into your jewelry box. It will absorb the excess moisture and keep your silver jewelry shining!
6. To maintain the pearls
Pearls are delicate and require special care. This simple method makes it easy to clean them safely.
Place your pearls in a nylon stocking. Tie it so the pearls stay in place. Fill a sink with warm water and add some mild shampoo, such as a baby shampoo. Place the pearls in warm water and gently rub the tights against the pearls. Rinse with fresh water, remove the pearls from the stocking and pat gently to dry.
