Olive Veronesi is senior from Pennsylvania, and as you may know they are the most at risk during the COVID-19 outbreak. The 93-year-old woman is spending most of her days indoor, but she still had a very special request.
It seems like she ran out of her favourite alcoholic beverage; beer! She found a very creative way to tell her neighbours and daughter that she wanted more beers, look at the picture below!
She put a sign on her window simply saying "I need more beer" while holding a can of Coors Light - which seem to be her favourite! A relative posted a picture of her with the sign and the post went quickly viral! Even a TV station noticed and reposted her picture.
“I have a beer every night. You know what? Beer has vitamins in it. It’s good for you. As long as you don’t overdo it,” Veronesi told Pittsburgh's KDKA news station.
Luckily for her, even the company Molson Coors noticed! They sent her 15-packs of her favorite beer - Coors Light - so she can continue to enjoy a nightly brew while practicing social distancing!
A Molson Coors spokesperson told TODAY : "When we saw Olive’s message, we knew we had to jump at the chance to not only connect with someone who brought a smile to our faces during this pandemic, but also gave us a special opportunity to say thanks for being a Coors Light fan.
Even in the pre-COVID era, we would’ve been thrilled to fulfill Olive’s request. But in this moment, during these unusual times, bringing a little bit of joy to someone’s day is the least we can do."
It seems like Olive is not the only one running out of her favourite drink! Annette Mullet a 82-year-old from Ontario, Canada, also held up a sign in her window to let her daughter know "Need more wine!"
We must protect the most vulnerable during this pandemic and make sure they are not running out of anything, even if it's beer and wine!
Are you helping a senior family member or neighbour during this terrible time?
