Oscar Olivares is a 23-year-old artist who lives in Venezuela. With the collaboration of "OkoSpiri", a local NGO that works to preserve the environment, he made a colossal mural: an eco-fresco made with recycled bottle caps.

It took two and a half months to complete the project, which required more than 200,000 bottle caps! Oscar explained that when the organization OkoSpiri contacted him about this crazy project, he thought it was unachievable. But he still decided to give it a go.

Here's what the wall looked like before:

You can find the huge decorated wall at Plaza Escalona in El Hatillo, a municipality of Caracas. This wall is 45 meters (148 ft) long and beautifully colored. It is supposed to depicts macaws in their natural habitat!

The fresco (mural) begins with a representation of the city of Caracas surmounted by a moon in "arepa", a typical dish from Venezuela. Then, you can see in the sky two UFOs, which is reminiscent of a work by Van Gogh.

Here and there, you can see sunflowers. But the most important part remains the majestic parrots of different sizes and perspectives. Finally, at the end of the wall, you can admire an Araguaney, the country's national tree

This wall is the pride of the artist and of the city of Caracas today.

There are several superb colorful mosaics in Latin America. But this one is one of a kind ... especially with this all this recycled material!
