Whether it is for the desire to lose weight or for the sake of health, you may want to (reasonably) calculate the calories you consume. But this is not always easy and that is why visual examples can help so much.

WiseGEEK conducted a very visual and informative study and shared a series of photos that compare the appearance of 200 calories that can be found in 63 foods. For example, did you know that 51 grams of candy contains as many calories as nearly 600 grams of broccoli or 3 whole eggs?

Note that the average adult needs 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day, depending on the level of physical activity.

To help you make the best choices for your health, here are some photo examples of food servings that contain 200 calories. But don't forget, it's okay to offer yourself less "healthy" foods every now and then!
