Until a few years ago, we weren't really concerned about what would happen to us when we died. Everyone ended up at the cemetery, and then the option of cremation appeared.

Now, more and more people are concerned about their ecological impact, even post-mortem. A big luxury coffin is not what is best for the Earth ...

Among the “greener” initiatives that have emerged, there is this project which stands out, which took off in 2003 and is gaining a lot of attention.

The "Capsula Lundi", which was developed by two Italian designers, Anna Citelli and Raoul Bretzel. It is a kind of giant egg which is actually a large pocket of soil, into which the body of the deceased person is introduced. The body in question will then smile at a tree planted over it.

A beautiful symbolism to give back to life after finishing ours ...

However, the laws of some countries do not allow this procedure. The two creators of the giant egg have therefore modified the latter, offering a biodegradable urn which is also oval in shape, but smaller in size.

You can't put a whole body in this urn. However, the ashes of the deceased can be poured into it and the urn planted in the ground, keeping the idea of using it to feed a tree planted above.

These urns are on sale on the official website of the project, for the sum of 400 euros. You should check with the authorities to find out where they can be planted.
