Tiles are very pretty. But they can also easily get dirty! How to get rid of the dirt embedded between the tiles in order to restore the floor or backsplash of its former glory ?
Grayish joints do not make a good impression and make things appear unsanitary in certain areas. However, it is not actually because of your laziness that your grout is so dirty ! You just didn't know how to clean it properly and easily yet.
No need to despair anymore ! Here is an eco-friendly recipe to effectively clean the grout in between your tiles using products that you probably already have at home.
Steps to follow:
7 cups of water
1/2 cup (125 g) of baking soda
1/3 cup (85 ml) lemon juice
1/4 cup (65 mL) vinegar

This mixture will start to foam and that's what you want. It must be used immediately while it is still foaming.
Then brush the grout using a household brush or a toothbrush. Rinse with a damp mop to remove all traces of the house cleaner.
You'll end up with brilliantly clean grout!
This tip is particularly useful for kitchen and bathroom tiles, but can also be practical for use to cleaning tiles in your entrance hall and everywhere else.
You can even clean the tile itself with baking soda.
How to proceed:
- Mix 3 parts baking soda in 1 part hot water and make a paste.
- Spread the paste on the tiles using a sponge or brush.
- Rub to remove chalky residue.
- Rinse with clear water and dry with a clean dry cloth.
Another option: turn to vinegar. Simply wipe the floor with a vinegar rag and rinse.
