You know when you go grocery shopping and the strawberries always look so good, and you always end up buying at pack? The next thing you know, they are spoiled in the fridge! And they are not cheap too! Luckily for us, there is a tip to make them last longer! So you might actually get to eat them this time! This trick requires very little ingredients and time, so you have no excuse.
Simply fill a bowl with water and add vinegar - it should be 5 parts of water for 1 part of vinegar. Then, let the strawberries sit for a few minutes.
Dry the strawberries as thoroughly as possible, because dampness might cause them to mold! You can dry by patting with a paper towel or a salad spinner. Then put the strawberries in a container with paper towel and place in the fridge. Don't worry you taste the vinegar at all! You can also do this with other berries, it works well too!
This tip works because the vinegar essentially removes bacteria (mold spores) from the strawberries way better than just tap water! If you look closely, you will notice some dirt and grime after you remove the strawberries from the vinegar and water!
