Oh no, you forgot the wet towels in the washer all day. Do you know what that means?
Bad musty smell!
By washing them again, it happens that the smell does not go away. What to do, then?
We show a simple tip to get rid of bad smells on your towels.
All you will need are two ingredients that you probably already have at home: vinegar and baking soda.
As you may already know, these two products combined cause a chemical reaction that removes odors and accumulated soap residue over time on your towels.
You will need:
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup baking soda
To remove odors, here is the simple process:
1. Put the smelly towels in the washer filled with hot water (you can even boil on the stove or in a kettle).
2. Add a cup of vinegar and start a normal wash cycle.
3. When the load is complete, leave the towels in the washing machine that you will refill with hot (or boiling) water and 1/2 cup of baking soda. Start a 2nd load.
4. Dry your towels in the dryer or on a clothesline.
This method works almost every time! If it does not work the first time, repeat all the steps.
The video below shows you all the steps in detail.
