Does the coming fall gives you the desire to change your hairstyle? Are you still wondering if you will cut them or leave them long?

Before putting the scissors in your hair, do the 2.25 test, this is the best way to know if short hair is better than long hair for you (and vice versa!).

This tip was invented by an expert in the hairdressing world, Gilles Robinson. It consists of measuring the distance between the earlobe and the underside of your chin.

How to?

Ideally, ask someone else for help, it can be difficult to do it on your own.

Take a ruler, and place it so that the line of the 0 is exactly at the bottom of your earlobe, then place a pencil just below your chin with the tip pointing towards the ruler.

Now, you only have to read the number pointed by the pencil. If it's less than 2.25 inches it is that short hair is the most suitable for your face, but more than 2.25 inches, long hair will suits you better.

The shape of the face is also very important in your decision of new haircut!

If you have a round face, you need a hairstyle that counterbalances this roundness and stretches your face a little to balance it. It is therefore recommended to create a little bit of volume on the top of your head and to surround the face with smoother, preferably thinned out locks.

An oval face is balanced in length and width, and adapts to all hairstyles or almost. It is therefore necessary to choose a haircut that clears the face and emphasizes its harmony.

Square face, which is characterized by a broad forehead and jaw, needs a hairstyle that brings some softness. By creating volume on the top of the head and opting for an asymmetric layered cut, the wide aspect of the cheekbones and jaws will be reduced.

Those who have a long face (thin and long chin) should choose a haircut that will break the length of the face a bit and give it a little more width. It is therefore advisable to choose a length ofhairbetween the bottom of the jaw and the shoulders, with a layered cut that brings volume and movement.
