Cleaning tips with vinegar are becoming more and more popular. And most of the time, it's one of the best natural cleaners!

Whether it's for cutting boards, toilets, windows, etc. It does a fantastic job, but did you know there are a few cases where it's a very bad idea to use vinegar?

Here are 10 things you should never clean with vinegar!

1. Iron

Sometimes it's suggested you add vinegar into the reservoir of your iron, but don't do this, you could damage your iron. Instead, follow the manufacturer's cleaning tips.

2. Waxed furniture

Vinegar removes the wax from your furniture, and it leaves them drab.

3. A stain or egg damage

If you drop an egg on the floor, never use vinegar to clean it. The acidity causes the coagulation of it, which makes the egg harder to clean up.

4. Natural stone

The acid in vinegar and can greatly damage the stone. The dish soap and hot water will do the job without damage.

5. Some stubborn stains

Stains of grass, ink, ice cream and blood won't be removed with the vinegar.

6. Hardwood floors

It depends on the protective finish of your floor, so don't take the risk. Clean only your hardwood floor with cleaning products designed for it.

7. Your iPhone and your mobile phone

It has a thin layer of oleophobic coating that limits fingerprints and stains. The acid contained in vinegar can remove it!

8. Clothes, vinegar and bleach

Vinegar is great for cleaning clothes, mixing it with bleach creates a toxic chlorine gas. When mixed with water, the gas creates hydrochloric and hypochlorous acids. Gas is not good for you and your clothes will be completely ruined.

9. Greasy surfaces

Vinegar doesn't work on grease because it is acidic. Use an alkaline soap, such as a dish soap.

10. Granite and marble countertops

The acid in the vinegar can damage natural stone.
